Post only food you control
You must have authority to offer the food and must describe its identity, amount, preparation, packaging, allergens, storage condition, pickup window, and known problems accurately.
Surplus publishes user-supplied information and helps two parties contact each other. It does not own, inspect, store, sell, or transport listed food.
These are prototype terms and operating boundaries, not a substitute for location-specific legal review before launch.
You must have authority to offer the food and must describe its identity, amount, preparation, packaging, allergens, storage condition, pickup window, and known problems accurately.
Remove unavailable food, answer pickup contacts honestly, and do not substitute materially different food without telling the collector.
You arrange transport, arrive within the agreed window, inspect the food at handoff, and may decline anything that is unsuitable or does not match the listing.
Do not harass participants, publish private addresses or contact information, impersonate another person, request payment through a free listing, or use the platform for unlawful goods.
A listing can become unavailable, a participant can fail to arrive, and user-supplied information can be wrong. A pickup request does not reserve food unless the donor confirms directly.
Surplus may remove a listing, restrict access, preserve relevant records, or cooperate with lawful requests when investigating safety concerns, fraud, harassment, or misuse.
Surplus is not an emergency service and does not provide medical, legal, or food-safety advice. Contact the appropriate local authority or qualified professional when the situation requires it.
